Default z28 dieing

I have a 94 z28. one day i was spinning the tires then the car sputtered and dyed. It started back up but as soon as I give it any gas it would die. I let it idle for a while and then i could give it gas. Drove to a buddies shop and it died again they tested it and found it was not getting any spark. let it set over night the next moring it fired right up everything tested good so they put a new coil wire on it and it ran great for 2 days and then did it again let it set for a hour it started back up drove it 10 blocks it dieed again and would not start. put a new coil on it and it ran great for 2 days and it did it again. This time it took 2 days before it would start but it is back to the same give it gas and it dies. I was thinking maybe an ignition module even though it test good my mechanice friend said he has seen them test good when they are bad. does anybody please have any ideas on this problem.

If they tested it and you're not getting spark you should probably replace the whole opti unit (providing you've already checked the obvious: plugs and wires). Often times the coil is not the only problem, there's a good amount of sensors and other components in the Opti that can get fried as well.
