Default Z28 as a daily driver

What's up guys, I am a long time member over at Mustangforums but came over here because I wanted to ask some questions about the 4th gen maro. I was looking into getting a z28 with an M6 because well, I don't think that will be too boring of a DD.My questions are somewhat specific to the LS1 crowd in terms of fuel efficiency, but things like ride quality, trunk space, interior quality, road noise, and general upkeep of the car most 4th gen guys would be able to answer. Here it is, what is the average fuel consumption on a stock LS1 that will be driven easy most of the day an only opening it up when traffic conditions allow? What kind of space is there in the trunk, and I'm not good with trying to visualize cubic feet in my head, so what can you fit in there? Is the interior cheap, good, or average? How does the car ride, is it like a skateboard or is it soft enough to drive comfortably? How much on average do you spend on gereral upkeep of a well maintained car, is it just oil and fluid changes, or are there trouble spots to look out for? This car will be kept stock, with the exception of maybe a drop-in K&N and a few of those free mods I hear so much about[8D]so please keep that in mind while answering questions. Any and all help is appreciated.

fuel wise the ls1 stock is great my 98ss got 28mpg on a 1300 trip. i like the interior alot, i hate the mustang interior compared to the ls1. the trunk has some room but not alot, and the drive quality is pretty good. road noise might be bad if you have loud exhaust like my car i need ear plugs, but stock there is no problem.my car is a dd and i get 20-22 on average. overall you will like it alot more then any mustang, it has a lot more ***** and has a bullet proof motor.

Well my mustang is an 89 with a 408w in the worksthat should be pushing about 600 hp at the crank so I doubt that it will be faster than that.[8D]I really do like the LS1 and appreciate your honest opinions. What kind of rpms are you 6sp guys turning at highway speeds(60-70mph)?

Mine averages about 20 ish depending on how much it is driven on little streets and how often i pull up next to a mustang. On the highway I can average around 28 by just throwing it in 6th. I dont know how 98ss got 28 with an auto(right?). Ride quality is decent good for what it is but it ain't no cadillac. It is also a really fun car to drive, always a plus, but will be tempting to drive the ...fun, way (in which case look for about 16mpgs). I would take one over a Mustang any day. I have 120000 on mine and i stil just do regular maintainence and what not. May be needing a clutch soon though.

on the highway in a 6 speed 60-70 mph you will sit around 1300-1700rpm's stock. i drive my buddys 2000 ws6 all the time(like 6 speeds more). idk how i got 28 i just set it on cruise at 70mph and i was geting well over 300 miles per tank.

Any trouble spots I should look for? Hell, even 16 mpg is decent. Whats with all the domestic on domestic hate, shouldn't we be teaming up to stomp ricers out?

my 1998 z28 is my dd. i love the way it drives, handles, only complaint is that with new springs its kinda bouncy. mine is also an m6,which is a great benefit due to the gas milage.
