i think the phrase, "if you do the crime, you pay the time" can be used loosely here to describe that. he was stunting, showing off, and he t-d someone. he got what he deserved, and i hope the other guy was fine. no sympathy for him. co-incidentally, when i did stupid stuff, and had things happen, i understood that there was no sympathy deserving for it.

dont even start with the whole "show offs" bit. i am so sick of people telling others what they should drive. it is none of your business what i drive. so keep your opinions to yourself. i am really getting pissed off with this attitude that people have, thinking those that drive cars with engines bigger than needed should be penalized. hey, if we are willing to pay the gas, it's no one else's business. i worked my butt off to get my car, and i will enjoy and if anyone tells me i should feel guilty, i'll emit some more emissions from the exhaust and tires.

for the record:

~the camaro pulls over 30 mpg highway.
~ my 6600 lb truck pulls around 20-21 mpg highway

this was meant to make people laugh, but you seem to have issue with that. please keep it to yourself. i was laughing at that clip, and i still think its funny.

maudy: i agree with you on i do kind of feel for him as it is his pride and joy. hopefully he will learn from it for next time, lol. and yea, it could have been any kind of muscle car that did that. the fact that it was a mustang is just another point up for the grudge match between us and "them".

Exactly, took off the second part, though cause that was nah.

hey Detroit-TD, were you speaking in general about people pi**ing you off, cause i hope it wasnt my post.

I completely agree with you. I have and love my big car, and i bought it, fill it with gas, insure it etc. and i drive it how i like, regardless of what others say.And i hate people telling me to get something more economical, cause over here in UK they are crazy about it!

Anyway just hope there wasnt a miss understanding?

no no, it wasn't you. lol. i think thats sweet you have a 'maro over there. i do mean in general. i was just surprised to find that opinion on here, a site where owners get together to talk about their cars. in general, i just get tired of hearing it everywhere i guess. around here, there is now "green" parking stalls, alongside stalls for the handicapped and mothers with kids. not to mention, most of the parking lots have been repainted for small cars. not a problem with the camaro, but you get a big truck to park, and it can get real tight.

something i have noticed too. i don't know how it is over there, but up here in canada where i live, i see way more little import tuners driving around blowing blue smoke, because they wanted to rev up to 9 grand, than i do see older/newer muscle cars blowing smoke.

nice ride by the way.

hey, yer there are way more blue smoke ricers over here. I just love to sound of a V8, the people who my dad work with have all old 70's muscle cars. Cudas, novas, camaros, stangs, roadrunners etc. I just got a newer muscle car cause it is my daily driver. I dont car how much fuel it uses, and yers it does 30 mpg on the motorway. I enjoy it and still drag race it.

My pal used to have a skyline gts-t 2.5 turbo, but i made him get a V8, he got a Vauxhall monaro (pontiac gto) just rebadged over here. He loves it, I done work on his and it pushed 370 rwhp!.

so long as no one got hurt its funny. if someone got hurt then its entertainment, at least it seems that way and if someone gets killed its news. are we getting too sensitive. ive seen some empty headed boat owners do some really stupid things with 100k$ boats that i laugh at. being on the water its always a life, death situation and most times its hard not to laugh and say what was he thinkin. so in analyzing the pirouette were did he make his mistake, the entry, spin or the finish. i give em a 3.

If he would have stayed on the throttle he might have been able to save it. But as we all know our first instinct is to just hold on and ride it out.

ya, as soon as it started sliding, he let off. best thing would have been to crank the wheels as hard left as he could, and pin it. would have thrown the back end around, and redirected his momemtum.
