wrong spark plugs
bought a 95 camaro...found out too late that it has a 93 lt1 put in last year. I put 95 plugs in it that have the same gap (according to oriely's guy). They said the threading is different....is this going to be a problem or will it damage the engine?
also...how can I find out what fuel pressure regulator to put in the 93...the parts guy at XL said I need the Vin because there is a difference. He told me if I had the water pump and showed auto parts people that would help me to figure what block I have? I feel stupid...figured asking for a 93 z28 5.7 would do it.

As far as I know thee are only two sizes of threads,14mm and 18 mm, so the wrong thread plug won't fit. However, the reach or thread lenght depends on the application. Using the wrong reach could cause probems, such as the plug hitting the piston, or too short a short reach leaving parts of the thread in the head exposed and eventually getting carbonized to the point where the proper plug won't fit. Besides reach, the most important things are the heat range, and wether or not the heads requre a plug with a gasket, or a plug with a tapered seat. The gap is adjustable, and should always be checked with a feeler gauge before installing the plug. I think your buddy at Oriely needs to get up to speed.

does the motor have aluminum heads? only thing i can think of is it could be a iron head lt1. otherwise its the same engine as a 95 lt1 the opti is different. if the person that installed the engine was thinking correctly they would have changed the intake and rack, egr, opit to the 95 to be consistant. 93 has a different fpr than the 94-95. lets see some pictures
