It won't hurt the car as long as the hot exhaust is directed away from body parts; however, it will hurt your and your neighbors ears, and hurt your wallet if a cop stops you. LOL

a couple of my buddy's with LT1/LS1's have the electric cutout right after the y pipe, it sounds mean as hell, and with a flip of a switch its back to normal.

QTP makes a good cut out but they sell for about $250 but if you go on ebay you can find the same cut out for about 160 big difference and from what I've read the cut out acctually adds about 15hp. Not a bad deal
