I know the computer would have to be changed but what else? would it be possible? Im tired of having a 3.8 i really want to throw a v8 in and can't afford a LS1.. Thanks

A caprice LT1 has iron heads IIRC, not really worth the work. You'll need full wiring harness, 4l60e tranny, fuel lines, radiator for an LT1 f-bod, k-member from an LT1 f-bod, trans crossmember, front springs for a v8, dash gauge cluster for a V8, air cleaner assembly of some kind, and when you get it all in and re-wired and mounted, you'll have to figure out how to convert from DBW to a cable throttle. I'm leaving plenty out. It's possible, but not worth it for that engine. The best way to swap a V8 is to find a camaro that is the same year as yours to use as a donor, since a lot of stuff will have to be swapped.

Basically the only thing worth swapping is a Special engine, like a 454 or an LS3 etc. If you want an LT1 Camaro the cheapest and easiest thing to do is to sell your 3.8 and buy a LT1 Camaro. If you don't like the way they look you can do a front swap to the LT1 car.

You would still need a doner car. The frame, tranny, radiator, rear plus a bunch more are different V6 to V8. If your 3.8 is running good its MUCH cheaper to just trade it in on a LS1 car.
