Default Window Tint

Who has it, how dark, what did it cost, and do you have pics (interior and exterior)? I'd like to see how dark things are inside the car especially with different levels of tint.

Legal in AL is 32%, which seems really, really dark.

32% isn't dark at all. Generally, you have 3 options for tint. (around here anyway) 35%, 20% and 5%.

5% is VERY dark. Like, forget about seeing out your back window at night dark. Limo Tint dark.

In Ontario, ANY tint on the windows beside the driver is illegal. Having said that, I have gotten away with both 35% and 20% on those windows for years. Depends on the mood of the cop when he pulls you over I guess.

Most people I know go with 35% on the front windows and 20% everywhere else.

Full tint on my camaro is ~$200 depending on the installer and how busy he is at any given time. Mind you, I have the convertible and my back window is tiny.

Here's a good pic illustrating the differences:

Tinting is not hard to do yourself, The back window is the only freaking annoying part. Ebay sells pre-cut window tint for camaro's.

I've got 15% all around and a windshield strip on my 300, its dark. I have to open my door to back up at night, but I love it.

Thanks for the input everyone. I think I'll just go with the darkest I can get away with legally. I just don't want the added worry of being pulled over and ticketed for my tint. Police in Madison, AL looooovvve to pull you over for everything.

Do you have any eye issues? There was a guy on here with a 5th Gen that got a prescription for darker than legal tint because of his eyes, he also had the windshield tinted.

limo tint will get you pulled over. Oddly some of our police car's have it. I have a 6" tint strip across the top of my front windshield on my truck which is illegal here, but not once have i been pulled over for it. I don't have sun visors in my truck, so its nice to have. If you do get stopped here for dark tint, the officer will have you hold your license up to your drivers window(all windows rolled up), and if he cant see it then your screwed(rarely happens though unless limo and look suspicious).

Over all, officers have better thing to do then worry about if your tint is to dark. vehicle enforcement is another thing, but I have not had any problem with them. I have a cracked windshield(which is ageist the law here) and one followed me for about a mile, I guess he noticed the emergency lights and common courtesy kicked in. He pulled over and went back to the Interstate(where they mainly patrol).

P.S: Dark is not always better, if i had to roll my windows down to back up then i wouldn't have that tint.
