Default Will this fit my car?

Well, if you're not aware, I have a 98 3.8. I found this CAI http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SLE-21033/ is this what would fit my car? It seems like it would based on the info, but I was a little confused by the 3.8/5.7 part of it. I see I would also need a filter apparently? Sorry, I'm not all that familiar with CAIs yet, so I want to make sure this is the right one. And I'm very set on an SLP, K&N is too expensive. I'd like to order it today if possible, so any quick responses would be appreciated!

As far as I can tell it will fit the 3.8. I've actually been looking at buying one from the WS6 Store. http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...products_id=33

Oh nice, I didn't even look at WS6. I have a coupon for Summit still I think, so I started there.

Also, will the stock lid fit or do I need a new lid? Other than the filter, is there anything else I need for it?

i believe it will go under the airlid and below the bottom half of the airlid to pull air from infront of the radiator.

You use the same air filter that you use now. I have the SLP CAI on my 02 V6, and it was damn easy to install. You will need to cut out the bottom of your air intake box, and cut a large piece out of your air deflector underneath the car, but that's it really.

EDIT.

Here is a guide installing it. This one is made by Fast, but it is the same design as the SLP.

My question for someone smarter than me is will this be significantly better than the "Free Ram" air mod? That's what I did, then added a K&N filter. I saw an immediate difference.

the slp is in addition to the air box mod. if u look in the directions of the slp in the summit page it shows how to cut the box the same as the link that was provided by failed devices.

Thanks guys. I was so concerned that it would/wouldn't fit, I didn't bother noticing the instructions link on how to install. Seems fairly simple enough.
