Default Will it fit?

I am replacing my rearend on my 1997 camaro z28 6 speed. i found a guy who is selling a rearend out of a 1994 camaro z28 6 speed, fully complete and stock with the 3:42's...part number gm26029188. its a 3 channel meaning the sensor is in the middle of the differential n does not have traction control. i just want to make sure this will fit my z28 considering that i cant find the same year rearend anywhere.

I believe it will for but you may need to delete the traction control out of the computer but idk about these applications but it should fit in there just fine, rear ends are pretty easy swaps especially between 4 gens

but a better questions is, will it blend

It will physically fit, no problem. I don't know what if anything you will have to do to make the traction contol and ABS work though.

ABS wont cause anything to grenade... even if the slightest thing goes wrong with the system, ABS shuts down completely.. then your amber abs light comes on...
u can use da rear end but your abs will not function

abs is a good thing, look for an end that works with da camaro you got

Yes it will fit. If you have a 4 channels you'll need your axels and sensors to turn a 3 channel into a 4. If you have a 3 then you don't have to do that. I've done alot of research about this last week before I bought my rear diff.

I called the Chevy dealer and game them my vin, they say that its a 3 series rearend with 3:42, posi limited slip, NO traction control, but has abs. he says the best way is to get the vin from any other car if i can and he can look it up to see if it will be a direct swap. its funny cuz i found a guy who has a 2000 SS 6 speed who is will to sell me that rearend for 300 complete with posi, 3:42's, abs, no traction control but he has no vin of the car it came off. i still dont know if that will fit. he says it will but the brakes are bigger is all. so i might just do that. 300 is a good deal for bigger brakes and a complete rearend also. any ideas guys?

Assuming that the rear you are getting is ready to install and you don't have to fix anything then that would be a pretty good deal.

Howeva.....if the wheel bearing are bad, or the posi is messed up, or the ring and/or pinion are toast, then the $300 outlay for it will seem pretty crappy.

What is wrong with your original rear?
