okay so my mom decided to drive my car yesterday (and i cant say no since she paid for it) and let it RUN OUT OF GAS. apparently while it was struggling for fuel the SES light came on, and its been on since. any ideas whats wrong?

 

It could just be a residual code that the PCM hasn't cleared yet. Drive down to autozone and get the codes read out and have them clear the problem codes.

 

I would have told her no. Letting someone drive your car is like letting someone **** your girl. I dont think anyone on this forum would let someone do that. If you take off the neg batt term is should reset the pcm

 

my mom asked to drive my car and i flat out said no and got b*tched at for a little while but her car was in the shop AND she doesnt have a license.. she said she was "just going to the store 10mins away" and even tho i offered to drive she still took the beater Ranger with a manual tranny.

 

I let my sister drive my car and she hit a curb, ended up costing me 400+ bucks cuz she bent the spindle. I'm just glad she didn't bend the rim.

Oh and like a week ago she hit the brick that lines our driveway when she was moving my car out of the way, and now I'm going to need a new front bumper. Totally scraped up the front left of it.

Needless to say, I'm not thrilled when she has to drive it.

I agree, that seems really backwards. Make her pay for the damage she's caused!

.... wow... so if you had a brother and he f'd your girl you wouldnt do anything because "hes your brother you just cant"? She needs to be held responsible for damaging your car just like if she damaged anyone elses car.. besides your losing some valuable pennies by paying for her mistakes man..
