ok.... Uh... as far as cats go... what size/shape do i need? on jegs i see round, oval, oval with air tube and flat or something like that.. ikno i need a 3 in in/out but what am i looking for?

I dunno lol.. thats why i was asking. I have 3 in Y and pipes. I dont even know what im looking for!

The cat was the same that they used on the Vettes, so it is 3" in and out(the stock pipe restricts down to 2.5 after it leaves the cat). If you want the same exact thing you should be looking for a GM large cat, but really anything should work. See what randomtechnology has to offer, they make good highflow cats.

Well I was looking at a Magnaflow from Jegs... how are those? And whats this i hear about making more horses with duel cats?

I have magnaflow cats, they pass emissions so they're doing their job. You can get more flow through 2 cats than you can through 1, so 2 would make more power(if you have enough exhaust to push through it).

ive got 3in Y andpipes. I think im just going to go with one high flow magnaflow. Thanks

From the under hood pics I've seen of your car you have the stock manifolds, you should confirm whether you have the stock Y pipe as well before you decided on your cat. There is not way the stock Y pipe can outflow a high flow cat, so if you have the stock Y you should be good to go with just one. If you have an aftermarked mandrel bent Y, I'd say you may want to think about dual cats because you could actually use the flow at high RPMs. If you're thinking about doing some LT headers in the near future you may want to save your money for the time being and go with just one.
