Hey all- while working on my car today, i stumbled across this little black wire connecter...its right below my passenger seat, where the shoulder belt seatbelt guide is....what is it?

its what tells the car your seatbelt is on

 

Why would it be on the passenger side when the driver side is the only one that registers?

 

Looks to me to be the drivers side seat, since it's looking from the back side, right side of the seat, with the center console next to it.
The seat belt receivers are in the center by the console, not by the door threshold.
