I RUN RIGHT AT ABOUT 2300 RPM AND I GOT ABOUT 29.5 GALLONS ON THE TRIP FROM VA TO GA BUT MY CAR IS LOWERD ABOUT 3 INCHS TOO THAT HELPS A LITTLE ON LONG TRIPS OH I HAVE 97SS Stage 3 clutch long tube headers ajustable suspension. 5.7 liter

 

how fast at 2300RPM? seems like you should be going about 85-90 doing that RPM.

And btw, does anyone know the stock rear end ration for a 96' Z28?

 

[sm=WTFsgign.gif]BS......I have to call you out on this, 29.5?? No way, First off LT1's are rated like 17city and 21/22 highway. An LS1 which gets better MPG with your mods maybe does 25mpg. You have long tubes and you lowered your car 3"? how does lowering raise gas mileage by so much?Plus higher gears EAT mpg'snot makes it better. Either you're BSing or your math skills are off.

You guys rpm's are high, I cruise at 70mph at only 1500/1600 rpms! even with my mods! Stock 3.42's and I get about 24mpg's. No way an LT1 or an LS1 will make 29+mpg's MUCH less with higher gears andcruising at 2300rpm.

 

i made a mistake on my earlyer post i tested the car and i was off it sits right at 2000 rpm going 80 i apologize

 

i filled the car up in N.C and i took the mileage then in S.C i filled it back up it was only down to a little under half a tank i took down how many gallon i put back in and did the math i got 29.5 mile to the gallon I was crusing 75-80

 

oh and I did take down how much i filled her up with in N.C the car being lowed does help with arow aerodynamicswas a long trip at stedy rpm car had also be major tune up "don't know if it matter but it is stright piped too" don't know much about camaro's but i am pretty good at math. But i will test it again to be sure. "pretty sure my math is right it supprised me too but it was right "
