What oil do you use?

thats a good oil i ran it in one motor.cycle ,an we just had one of these threads about 6 months ago ,for the average driver not doing to much pedal .pumping ,or let say burouts fast take offs ,thats gr.eat for , 1995 406 z28 vr1 20w50 with extra zinc then at 2000 miles i add stp with zinc an go to 5000.miles ,unless i run it hard ,as i get older running it hard .gets less an less . though i think i will allways like a nice fast take off ,burnouts are to messy an i think if you do them to much does damage ,i think .5w30 is the most widely used oil,my 3800 valvoline high milage 5w30 will probley..be best ,or one of those high milage oils ,now just hit 90.000.the 95 406 has 2000 miles now on the engine .102000 on the car .will change it in the spring, the 3800 is just a cruiser ,an will not beat on it,they say pre 80s engines need more zinc an oil today lacks it ,but i also think an extra layer on engine parts can be good for any engine just not to much ,i use stp with zinc .in all my cars at .2000.miles or when i see it getting low ,i think useing a .decent .engine flush for gunk build up evry 10.000 is a good idea too,one of the most important thing i have hear about oil is to keep it full ,with good viscosity to it ,more .engine failures my friend sees as a mech is ran out of oil ,or not chageing it enough,so as far as what kind ,you will get 20 diffrent kinds .an most will agree that changeing it .often an keeping it full is most important ,then some may not ,its like tires falkens goodyear firestone.? toyo an general used to be to of the biggest no name brand there on top brand name tires .samsung tvs.were a generic in the 80s now its in the top 5 tvs ,so its individual choice i think

Wow, got to catch my breath after reading that sentence. Kidding aside, I have been using Mobil 1 in all my cars, and they all run fine and lasted a long time. A Pontiac GP approaching 300 K miles, a 95 Z28 with over 150K, a 95 Audi nearing 200K, a 02 Chrysler nearing 120K. All have good oil pressure, and the only one burning oil (1 qt every 1000 miles) is the "German engineered" Audi. I change the oil and filter between 3000 & 5000 miles.
In the Audi's defense, the factory gearing is "German engineered" to make the engine spin at over 3000 RPM while doing 70 MPH in 5th gear overdrive.

My red Camaro gets used to get Pennzoil 5W-30 but it gets nothing but Castrol 5W-50 (125k miles) now, the black Camaro gets whatever brand 5W-30 (183k miles) that's on sale, the race car gets Mobil 15W-50, and the Jeep...well..it gets what ever snythetic oil I have left on the shelf. Right now I think the Jeep has a mix of 0W-40 and 5W-30 Advance Auto house brand and has 250k miles and 45 psi all day long. They all get synthetic and the only one to leak oil is the red Camaro that's leaking past one of the seals on the timing cover.
Walmarts Supertech is just fine. All oil has to meet a minimum API spec before it can be put on the shelf and a company can't buy its way past that. There's also the fact that house brands like that are outsourced to another company. Ashland, who makes Valvoline, also makes Napas house brand. Would I use SuperTech in the race car or the red Camaro? Nope. But I wouldn't hesitate to stick it in my Jeep or the black Camaro.

I only use it in the camaro since it's expensive but I do use royal purple fluids all around, oil, rear grease, trans fluid.

I use Pennzoil 5W30.
Oil fill cap says so, and Owner's Manual does not specify petroleum based or synthetic nor brand.
Brand is my choice as I have been using Pennzoil since the '50's from the farm.
