5W30 Royal purple 94,000 LS1

 

When I changed my oil a couple weeks ago I used about 5.5 quarts of Mobil 1 5w-30. That includes priming the oil filter too.

 

I've had to many people tell me oil is oil...

I use what is on sale, generally the "good" brands tho

for my old 96 3.8 i used quakerstate RPM synthetic 122xxx

 

I just got a rebuild and I chose to go with Castrol GTX for break-in. After I hit 3000 miles, I'm going to be going with synthetic. My oil of choice is going to be Royal Purple.

 

I use Mobile 1, 20w in the summer and 10w in the winter. I'm gonna stick to Mobile 1 high mileage from now on cuzI think I qualify (192k+!!!)

 

Royal Purple on my 3.4 ans swear that its making me more powa!!!! 198,.000

 

I think I participated in this thread already, but I use Mobil 1 5w-30.

 

I use Mobil 1 10W30 in everything I own. I have 135k on my 93.

 

I usually buy a name brand but I don't have any particular one that I use. Lately it's been Penziol synthetic. I haven't noticed and difference between any of the oils I've used Penzoil, Casto, Quaker State etc. I've seen Mobil at the place I shop at and that is one of the cheapest (price wise) of the name brands but I haven't used it. Is Mobil 1 as good as any other name brand?

 

I use the same stuff. Going full synthetic now.

1999 Z28 with only 26k on the odometer!
