Default what headers with SLP LM 1?

After I get the cat back on i plan on getting new headers. Probably shorties so i dont have to worry about a new y pipe and ground clearance (also want to keep my car emissions reliable if i ever move out of FL). I have heard that stock headers are the best way to go with the LM Is, Im just looking for some confirmation on this.

im using mid length they sound nice, they're not as bad as LT with the LM I but they do better than shorties, and are emissions friendly.

Long headers are th biggest upgrade in HP i think but they also come with the chance of grounding out on them too, not to mention they are a really tite fit from what iv heard and thy suck on emissions. Id like to get more HP but i dont want to go over board with my car and keep it a daily driver.

Any header will make the same power (relatively) as long as it's paired with a new Y-pipe. If you just get shorty headers without a new Y-pipe you're really not going to see any decent gains in HP, just a little change in sound. The stock Y-pipe is all compression bent and pretty restrictive. If you buy a good long tube header you're not going to have many issues with ground clearance, my Kooks are only about a 1/2 to 1 inch lower than the stock system. If you're looking for a decent header I'll always recommend Kooks. If you're not willing to spend quite as much you can look into Dynatech. Both will suit you pretty well, and both can be fully emissions legal (except in California where they don't allow long tubes).
