Meteor gave some great sites for performance parts. I usually do my business with Summit just because.....I really haven't had a problem with Jegs I guess it's just a personal preference. And as far as the distributor goes I've encountered two problems with mine. The first being when my water pump went out it seemed like it was impossible to get to and the other problem i encountered was that the distributor got wet and my car started missing but that is the only problems I have encountered. 94-97 Z28's are good cars and really fun to drive whether you're just cruising down the highway at 60Mph or if you're doing 130Mph they are fun cars. I think you will be very pleased to trade your bike in on one. Good luck with your decision and I hope you choose to go with the Camaro.

The distributor just has a limited life span, like most things. Typically people will start to see issues around 100K miles and the distributor will need to be replanced. It also can start going out if it gets moisture into it. It's not a bad system, just has some quirks, like most things. I would suggest replacing the stock GM opti with the MSD unit if you have to replace it anyway, I hear it's a pretty good unit, and better than the GM part. There's a good amount of aftermarket parts for the motors, so you shouldn't have much trouble finding go-fast parts. And this is a wonderful sight to read up about a Camaro of any kind!

I was also about to add an MSD distributor to go along with the MSD box and stuff I added, but mine was still good. I decided to hold off on it and save up for a valve train upgrade instead.

Since I bought my car it has had the distibutor replaced twice. The first time was the day after I bought it (lol!), and it did have 112k miles on it so the 100k estimate is good. The second time was when my upper radiator hose ripped and was spraying water all over the place. When the distributor was replaced the 2nd time, the mechanic showed me the water marks left behind inside the distributor! The2nd time I replaced it was backin '03 by the way.

Oh, and those web sites are good for performance parts...and this forum for info.
