what to do...
I just joined this forum today, i am going to buy a camaro in the next few months. i want a project car that i can work on for a long time to come. I'm just not sure what i should buy. I am leaning towards an SS, but would i be in the same boat if i just bought a Z-28? money is not really a factor, but obviously i dont want to spend more than i need to. i know you guys have seen this question a lot, but i really want some honest feedback. any camaro from early 90's to 2002 would be fine with me, i just really want to know what i'm getting into... any advice would be greatly apreciated.
I am personally a fan of the 2nd and 4th gens. Pick up this book here and do a little research about what years have what and how the car evolved

My personal favorites are 74-78 Second gens, and the 98-02 (ls1 cars). In 01 the LS1 engine had a couple of changes that IMO are worth paying a little more for. The pistons were redesigned to help prevent piston slap (common issue with the LS1) and the intake was taken from the Corvette LS6 and does not have EGR.
Also with the 4th gens after 96 you could get the V6 model with one of the best little V6 engines ever made, the 3800 Series II. This engine does not have the power of the same year V8s but it will eat up most 80's and early 90's V8 engines. It is a smooth runner and makes the Camaro a great cruising car. Get that with T-tops and you are set.
