Default what brand of battery is in your car

I think I'm gonna go ahead and ditch my walmart battery. I know some say it's not the problem but what the heck, I'm ready to try. It may be the culprit of my current "not start" so I may need a new one anyway.

Have you tried jump-starting the car to see what happens? With 11.5-ish volts in the battery, as stated in your other thread, you shouldn't be getting just a "click".

I have an optima red top, starts like a champ every time. Just replaced the optima yellow top in my impala ss, which lasted 10 years

No haven't had time yet to try. When I use my voltage tester it flashes a dozen numbers and won't sit still so it may be the tester. It just sounds like the starter rattling to me. Think I may run get another one.

Shop recommends Interstate, NAPA or Ford batteries.

Those are probably all made by the same manufacturer. lol Seriously though, there are more battery "labels" than there are manufacturers. To answer your question, I use Walmart batteries, and have never had a longevity problem. I do have an Optima battery in my Jeep that I swiped from the Camaro since it sits over the winter. Hope the Camaro doesn't hold the cannibalism against me!

Oh, and I have had 2 bad experiences in the past with Interstate batteries crapping out before their time. As such, I won't touch one with a ten-foot pole. And I'll bet if you talk to enough people, you're likely to get the same kind of feedback about every single battery brand out there. So based on that, there is NO good battery to buy! I cringed when I bought my last Optima battery though. Guess who bought them out....Interstate!!! But I don't consider an Optima an "Interstate" battery.

They named a bunch more, that's just all I can remember. I've had terrible luck with these walmart batteries though.

Could be. We bought 2 from there for other cars on 2 separate occasions and both times had a dead cell in less than a month. One was dead over the weekend.
