Default well my car needs some parts

My car lets out blueish white smoke and i was told that it was buring coolent and that means that there is a gasket gone or one of the heads were warped. It also knockes when it shifts, it will shift to second and will knock for about 2 seconds and then stops, then it smokes.what does that mean? It smokes when I floor it to.

About how much would stock heads be? and about how much would gaskets be?

I feel like i have posted this before i just can't remember. Sorry if it is a repost.

White smoke is typically water getting into the cylinders and comming out as steam, it's typically caused by issues with the heads. On the other hand, if it's a blue smoke, that's typically oil leaking into the cylinders, which isn't an uncommon problem, most of the time is a leaking ring and not something that's too big of a deal unless the car is using a lot of oil.

sounds like the trans is slipping...

if it was a head gasket the smoke would intensify the longer the car runs, where if it's just on start up your just burning some oil, i would worry about the tranny more than the little smoke burst at this point

It's not too tough to find stock heads for an LT1. A lot of people sell them off for about $300 per set if they still have them. Also check with some machine shops, because normally machine shops will just junk them, or sell them off at a very discounted rate. Since the LT1 heads really aren't that great, there isn't a huge number of people looking for them.
