Question Weird Radio Light(s) issue

A little while ago the 1,4, and Seek buttons on the Monsoon radio in my 02 Camaro SS quit lighting up at the exact same time. I don't know if its the same bulb or not but I remember reading or hearing somewhere that there could be a problem other than the bulb simply going out but I can't find any reference to it........... Anyone have any other ideas?

I dont know if it may have something to do with it but my courtesy lights have been replaced within a year and have burnt out already and the Fog Lamp switch gets pretty hot if I put my finger on the center of it. (I think just at night when the lights are on). Also, for some reason about a year ago. My dad replaced a 10amp fuse with a 15 until he could get a 10 and about that time I started needing to let the rear defroster rest a little before trying to turn it back on and if I put my finger right above the button it gets pretty hot there despite the temperature outside.

sounds like something inside the stereo and you need to pull that switch and see if you have a shorted wire or melted switch. check the wires back on the hatch for any signs of damage or such.

I've checked switch before and it looks fine and functions but just gets hot. The defroster works but when it cycles off and I try and tap te button again right away it won't come back on for a few minutes. Is that why you say to check for shorts or vecause it feels hot above the button?

And thanks for the info!
By the way when I say warm and hot I mean I'm afraid my finger will be burned if I keep it on much longer.

yes if the wire back where it hooks into the window is shorting then the switch would get hot. follow the wire as best you can and look for anyplace it might be pinching at the switch and the hatch.

Unplug the radio and see if the foglight switch is still an issue. My guess is that you have a short inside the radio and I'd certainly put the correct fuse back in there. There's a reason it was a 10A. Look at corrosion on your defroster to glass connections. Unplug, clean with a wire brush and recheck.
