Default Weird area between hood and windshield

Hi! I'm new to this forum. I found you all looking for some help with my 2000 camaro. I just took it in to be painted (I had the horrible roof bubbles) and the shop isn't doing a great job. Since their work has been so bad, I've been over analyzing the car to point out the problems. Anyways, during the last check I noticed that where the windshield meets the hood there is a giant gap on the driver side and no gap on the passenger side. I never noticed this before and the shop said they didn't remove that panel. But they did break the windshield and have to replace it so they were messing with the area. Anyways, I took a picture of the gap side and I'm attaching it (hopefully) and would appreciate any help. I'd love to see any of yours too so I can see if it's weird or if I just never noticed before.

Did they replace the roof panels completely? Did you use a donor car or get a new one? I have bubbles starting on my '01.

they just painted it. First they painted it and the bubbles started again within a day. So they stripped it all the way down and primed it and repainted it. Hopefully that will be enough but after some reading I saw a lot of people needed to replace them.

Oh! Thank you for letting me know! I guess I won't be able to post the picture. If anyone wants to help me out with pics of theirs maybe I can tell. I spent an hour on google images but couldn't see that spot well on any. I guess it isn't an interesting spot.
