Default weighing the pro's and con's

So I currently have a '90 Miata slammed on some coilovers. I am getting my tax return soon which I was planning on using on some wheels and tires and maybe a system. I have always wanted a 4th gen and I'm now considering selling the Miata and using the funds from that + tax return to get a decent LT1 car. I have come up with a list of pro's and con's and would like you guys to chime in.

Keeping Miata

Pro's: better MPG's, handles really well, can look really good with some low offset wheels and stretched tires, Miata's are becoming harder to find in good condition

Con's: cramped interior, A/C doesn't work, not the best daily driver, car is somewhat old

Getting Camaro

Pro's: fast, roomy interior, have always liked them, like the idea of muscle cars, would have A/C

Con's: significantly worse MPG, would miss the Miata

Also, if I kept the Miata I would end up putting way too much money into it (wheels/tires, turbo kit, better suspension, hardtop, etc.) where as I would be content with a 4th gen on some lowering springs with headers and exhaust.

are you stuck on an LT1 car? For a little more money you can buy an LS1 car that will be miles ahead of the LT1, not to mention cheaper/easier to modify and tune.

You'd be surprised if you pick up a 6 speed model how well they'll do mpg wise. My old 408ci/6 speed setup was making 505whp on motor and got 22mpg on the highway beating on it, from texas to pittsburgh.

An LS1 would be nice but they go for at LEAST $3,000 more than LT1's, around here at least.

LS swapped Miata would be awesome but that's at least a $10,000 swap even if you cut some corners

what is your budget? I know around here and on ls1tech and other sites a solid ls1 car can be had for between 4-6k, I don't think the lt1 cars go for much less then that

I'm looking to spend 2.5-3k, thats what decent auto LT1 cars go for around here.

I've owned both. Had a 93 Miata and it just wasn't that great. Cramped interior so so ride and really no that powerful. ai just picked up a 01 coupe. much more comfortable but still fun to drive.

I still have my Del Sol and it is even more comfortable than the Miata was.

But maybe I'm just getting old. More concerned with comfort and tired of dealing with convertibles.
