OK guys I am an old school camaro guy and I am looking at getting a 98 camaro SS for my DD and I am just curious how to verify that it's a real SS and not a re-badged Z28. Is there a sticker or code in the VIN or anything that I can check. Thanks

 

RPO code should be WU8. The RPO codes list or theserviceID labelis in the glove box or possibly on the door. If the RPO code for the SS option is not on the carsservice Id label then it was not originally an SS.

 

Get the VIN and call SLP, they will verify it for you.

 

wouldnt it be easier to find the rpo

 

I had the guy email some pics of the door jamb sticker but they were very hard to read so I called SLP with the VIN and they veryified her to be the real deal. Thanks for your help guys...
