Default V6 Tranny on LT1?

Hey, will the transmission from a '96 V6 work with a '96 LT1? My hunch is no, but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks

i seen he has an auto trans so im assuming thats what he is asking about. the auto transmissions are one piece so cant change the belhousing.

Starting in 1996~97, the 4L60E had a two piece trans case, removable bellhousing with a common main body.

The transmission part of the 4L60E is the same, but different bellhousings. Right, he never did say whether a manual or automatic. The specs on his 94 is automatic, but that doesn't mean anything.
It's a trick question, yeah that's it!

ironically i worked in the performance drag racing industry for almost 20 years doing trans, torq conv's,valve bodies, flywheels and anything to do with drive train but couldnt answer your question.i know the 4l60e is a comp controlled electronic version of the 700r4.made interchangeable bell housings for all trans/engine combos.i was just a dumb cnc computer programmer/machinist lol.but as some let me know...year dependant.v-6 to v8 bells differ but same trans
