Default Update: 94 LT1 Need HELP!!!

Hey guys, so all the voltages checked out for the low and hi res pulses and the culprit is a faulty optispark. I talked to Summit and even though my optispark is out of warranty they still agreed to replace mine for free. When today i took off the never used optispark (except the times my car idled in the driveway) i noticed there was a small buildup of oil at the 6 o'clock position on the back side of the optispark. The only seal i saw was on the optispark at the spline drive and wondered how far seated is the other seal into the engine block?? also is this a common occurrence?

It is probably the oil seal in the timing cover leaking- very common. The chances of the new opti seal being bad are pretty low. The timing cover seal for the opti and water pump coupler are in a harsh environment and eventually fail. Do yourself a big favor anf change both of them before you reassemble.

What is the best way to change the timing cover seal?? do I have to remove the timing chain cover itself??
