Unknown Object?

There is the object that is on the oil filter unit on the driver side its about as big as a hand, and I believe it might be the sending unit?!?!?! any thoughts?

That would be the oil filter (right angle) adapter. That bolts to the engine, and the filter attaches to the adapter. The oil pressure switch (sending unit) is screwed into the adapter, and faces toward the drivers side, at about oil filter level.

is it above the filter like this one. if so its the oil pressure switch/sensor

it should have a insulator boot over it.

It was covered in duct tape, i tried to pull it back and broke the unit, thats why I am asking. Does it need the isulator? or can use something else?

The insulator keeps moisture and corrosion out. See if you can find a replacement plug.

Replacement plug? I'm confused now? that unit sends info to my gauge correct?

Yeah, didn't the wire and insulator boot (I called a plug) get toasted?

Nah i just broke the unit inside the boot the wire and boot seem fine, but it was wrapped in duct tape, 2maro if i can get the motor out i will be taking pictures and posting them on my build tread
