okay so i was not even thinking today and filled my tank all the way up with 87. I usually run 93. I flipped out on my way home, and decided to get some octane booster. I got some of the NOS stuff, says it raises it 6 octane points, which would equal 93. Am i screwed? or not to worry?

10 points per octane rating. ie, you need 60 points to get to 93. you should be fine however. the 4th gens have plenty of failsafes to keep anything bad from happening and as long as you arent running boost or nitrous you dont have much to worry about.

I would top it off every couple of days with high grade to slowly bring ur octane rating back up.but its really not a big deal. before i was modded i would run 89 from time to time jsut because its cheap.

yeah, you'll be fine, and that NOS octane is the right stuff, Specter is correct it takes 10 points to equal 1 octane number. The NOS brand has 3 types, the 30 points, 50 points and 60 points, I run 92 with the 60 points about every 2 or 3 tanks. It has MMT which cleans out the injecters and increases the octane amounts. I have done the same thing before also and nothing bad has happened.

Like the other two guys have said, don't worry about it. Worse comes to worse your car will detect knock and retard the timing until you get some higher octane fuel in there and then it will slowly push the timing back up to where it's supposed to be.

Why is everyone freaking out about octane lately? As long as you dont put diesel or anything besides gasolinein the tank it will run.

not necessarily true. I would never run 87 in my car now that its been modded and tuned for high octane.

Tequila would probably work just fine. But the lime and salt will clog the fuel line! [:'(]
