Default Trunk speakers...why do some cars not have them

Alrighty so ive looked at MANY camaros and i can not understand GMs rhyme or reason for the trunk speakers in camaros.....my ss (for some reason) doesnt have a spot for speakers in the back..(i would have thought being an ss it would) but anyways then my girlfriends camaro has one speaker in the trunk (on the left side) and hers is just a V6 automatic...nothing special....and then i see some that have both of the rear speakers ...i didnt think theyd fit because of the spare tire...but does anyone know why some have the speakers like that?

Mine has the Monsoon system, but looks like someone got rid of the trunk speakers long ago. Just the cut wires are there. LOL.

I could be off on this, but I think the Bose system has 5 (doors, sails, left rear is a "woofer") Monsoons have all 6 and the regular is just the 4...

This is correct. Later models available with the Monsoon system had 6, my mom's 2000 V6 has the base system with 4 speakers, and my 95 had the delco-bose system with the woofer in the back.
