ok so i bought a 1996 camaro today and was wounder how you could tell if its a fake or not.
i have the two slp stickers on the driver side door ss badges on front finders and on the back and the dual exaust out the same side of the car but no slp logo on the ash tray or in the glove box..
it does have the ram air hood set up and it is a v8 5.7
i will try and post pics on tues or so if time lets me if there are any spots i need to check or if anyone has a link to something that may help please let me know. if its fake or not i cant see how i have lived with out a v8 for so long last v8 car was a 89 camaro rs i bought in high school..

Check the RPO codes, sticker is either on the driver door or glove box, if you have the code R7T then I believe you have an SS.

 

you could probably check the VIN with a dealer or shop or something too.

 

call SLP

 

I agree. Call SLP they can verify if it is an SS and all the options.

wow really? and its a 96? Id really love to see some pictures if you get a chance. I dont think I have ever seen a 96 SS although I know they exist

 

ill post some tonight if the rain stops here in florida but yea i was and still am happy as hell its a true ss i mean i have never seen a 96-97 ss i have seen the 98 and up ss but never the 96-97.
also reminds me i was so happy i forgot to get the other info from slp ill post that as well as soon as i get a chance to call them again and get the options it has along with a price for new decals and stickers for doors and what not for those that need the price info

 

you can look at my sig and see a 97...

i almost bought a 96 SS a couple years ago but let it pass by. get some pics up so we can see it!
