Transmission questions and issues
well idk where to start
4L60 here btw not 4L60E
My car used to have a chip in it of some sort that was essentially just yanked out of the car, would this cause problems?
also i dont think my trans shifts correctly, i wish there was someone else around here with a Z but unfortunately there isnt, it jumps out of first incredibly fast unless under hard acceleration, like when pulling away from a stop sign it stays in 1st for about 1 to 1 and a half seconds, and also when slamming on the gas in other gears its kind of hit and miss on whether it will shift down to a lower gear to gain power
and lastly, can you program a sort of sport mode into a transmission?
similar to that like in a BMW Z4 Automatic were it wont shift until almost redline at any acceleration, and vice versa for engine braking etc.
wrote a book here sorry, thanks for the help

For the 93 Z's, there was factory chip in the ECU that could be replaced, but there has to be some chip in there for it to be running. I don't think the computer could be programed for a transmission shift. Sounds like there may be a shift kit in the tranny and maybe your tranny is having problems also. I think the only thing you can do is have it all checked out or list up some more symptons and we can try and help more.

As for the chip. The ECM (Engine Control Module) is programmed by using a removable MEMCAL chip. To reprogram the ECM a new program can be burned into the MEMCAL or a different MEMCAL be substituted. Another way is to keep the stock MEMCAL and add a piggyback chip to change the programming. By removing the piggyback chip the ECM is returned to stock programming.

4L60 is programmed with a shift kit As Camaro 69 said check the TV cable. Do a search on the adjustment procedure. It might be streched or broken/disconnected all together.

alright ill look at the cable, maybe thats causin it!
also when i let off the gas in drive the car slows down significantly, like its being pulled back almost and the RPM's are not all that high when this is happening
and also random but on the way home today i saw a 30th anniversary Z28 in mint condition, with altezza tailights... i wanted to punch the guy

Other than the picture being blurry, no.
When the throttle is wide open, where is the cable? By that i mean, does it have any further to pull out? It's easier to see if there is any slack by popping the cable off the arm first, and seeing if you can pull the cable further than where it mounts. And while the cable end is in your hand, make sure you feel spring tension as you pull. If not, something came undone or broke at the trans.

alright there is a ton of slack in the middle one, and the little thing it is connected too is not spinning with it while it turns (because theres no tension)
EDIT: wrong, this wire is the one that runs behind the power steering pump and down to the front of the car by the air intake?
the one that runs down below the car is fine ...i think
