Default tire width

I need new rims and tires, probably going for the z06 17"s which are recommended 275/40, will 275s be ok in the front or should I go for something smaller?

I believe SS's wear 275s up front. I had some on my '97 back in the day. Had no problems.

Yes. Not now, as I have a different '97.

I run 275's all the way around. That was OEM size for SS's, I don't have any problems with rubbing etc.

The only issue with 315's in the back is if you want to rotate tires you can only do left to right, and you have to pay a minimum of $200+ per rear tire if you don't want a crap tire.
