I know there are plenty of tint threads on here, but I couldn't find one that talked about percentages or brands all too much. I would like to keep the side windows relatively light since any tint on them in CA is illegal, but I would like enough on all three windows so that I don't get blinded by peoples headlights at night and so I can still see out the windows. Would 30%-35% on the sides and 20% on the rear be good? Does anyone have pics of their tint so I can get a good visual idea? What brand of tint film is good? I've heard of 3M being good, but I don't wan't to spend more than $200 on this.

 

omg man... 200 $ ?? go to autozone get some 20% for the sides and its a @#$@#$% to do the back i would advise going on craigslist and finding someone who'll do the back for around 75$ thats what i did after messing up the back on the first try.. just such a weird curved shape and biggg, but it can be done. the sides are easy. I had 5% all the way around on my v6 never got pulled over in 1.5 years just got to keep an eye out and roll them down. have 20 % on my new Z also never gotten pulled over. got all 3 done on mine, sides myself for 20$ and back done for 80$ including tint.

 

I wasn't sure how much it would cost. So you have 20% on your rear hatch and it was $80. Not bad. How is the 20% on the rear. Can you see out of it well at night, and does it block headlight glare.

 

i'm getting mine done this week, i'll let you know how it turns out. with pictures. i'm probably doing 5-15 on back and 10-20 on sides

 

when i had my saturn priced, they told me 375 for all 6 windows(top strip of windshield). the camaro came tinted, and it was limo tint on the 3 windows, and i think 30 or 35 on windshield, but was only like 2 inches, where the "blue strip" usually is, iput that on myself so the camaro sticker stood out more.

i only got pulled over once for tint, and it wasnt actually for the tint, pulled me over cuz he couldnt see my seat belt thru the tint.. and then he said i was fine and i could go.
