Default Throttle Body,Stock lt-1? Worth It?

Hello all we are new members. My little lady just got herself a 93 z28
with Hooker cat back and a cold air intake. Im looking to do some mild
mods. I have a cam picked out for the most part. And have been looking
at a holly throttle body. Motor is stock other than those two things,
Will this be worth it?
Also, as far as "bolt-on" Parts what can you guys recommend? It is used
as a every day driver but the commutes are short so any ideas help!
Again I do plan to get a mild cam.
Thanks in advance!, We look forward to being contributing members to the
board!

throttle body won't do anything for you at this point. you're kind of jumping the gun by having a cam picked out at this point. its good you have a cold air intake and cat back already...next thing you need before a cam is headers. hooker makes a decent header and y pipe that i'd assume will match right up with their cat back. and we might be able to help you with your cam selection if you tell us what you picked out and what you want out of the car

spend the money on a new ring and pinion. best dollar for dollar mod in my opinion, if you don't mind gas mileage suffering a bit. other than that i would say go with some nice longtubes.

Thanks for the replies guys! After talking with brian from hitech. We came to the conclusion we will be doing a port and polish. Shopping around for some longtubes. Seems I was jumping the gun...lol..Thanks for opening up my eyes!
I guesss I will scratch the cam for now as well.

i wouldn't even touch the throttle body...there's no point and it won't gain you anything

I'm agreeing with Wham on this one, a new or even modified TB isn't going to get you anything. The stock TB is going to be fine until you have significant head/cam work done to the car and you're ready to port the intake for a 58mm TB. We're talking the 350+ RWHP mark. I would look into getting a nice set of Longtube headers (I recommend Kooks or Dynatech, LPP if you're doing a full race application, but it doesn't sound like you are). Make sure you at least get something that's stainless steel or ceramic coated, and a tuned header is going to be better than not. If you would rather do shorties make sure you get a mandrel bent Y pipe or you're not going to get any gain out of your headers since the stock Y pipe is compression bent and very restrictive.
