1st: When i go to start my car sometimes it struggles but never the less she starts.. ill turn the key and it wont start for a second but then she fires to life.. any ideas on what can cause this? For the majority of the time she starts right away everytime, but every once and a while she acts up a big when starting... very rarely actually..

2nd: theres a very very slight ticking coming from the left side of my engine (when facing the front end outside the car)at one point the headgasket blew butthat was repaired and the heads were ported... now its just a faint ticking that can be heardfrom inside and outside the car...i havent had ne engine trouble yet and ive hit 90mphsand done a few burn outs...would some Engine Restore or Gum Out do thetrick?... maybe somethings sticky? i dunno.. im not really a mechanic.. lol

3rd... the little area that displays what gear im in (on my auto shifter consol) dont light up anymore, i know where the gears are its just frustrating because i never know for sure if im in overdrive or drive lol. Itappears that the orange stick isbroken off and if it was supposed to light up.. it doesnt ne more... bad fuse? need a new orange gear indicator?

 

1: bad ignition switch. mine did that(i replaced for 130 bucks, self installed.). if not. maybe a starter.

2: mine also did that, and it was a exhaust leak on the headers. it could be other things. but thats most common ticking sound.

3: i have no idea, if it lights up, then yea either fuse or bulb.


if u replace ignition swich, my advice is to bring it to someone. it's just such a pain in the ***.

 

1. clogged fuel filter. Replace filter.
2. noisy lifter. Deal with it or replace em.
3. bulb burnt out. Take apart your console and spend $1.97 @ Wal-mart for a new bulb.

 

ok sweet guys thanks! Also while ive got my own thread, anyone know about how much it should cost to get my heater to work? Some guys said perviously that it could just be the core or needs to be flushed... Im alil tight on cash now that school has started and summers over they dont need me during the weeks as much as during the weekends (which i cant work becasue im helping my family add on to our house.)

 

1. Check fuel filter as already suggested, if that doesn't fix anything, check all plugs and wires
2. My bet is on an exhaust leak over the ticking lifter, make sure all bolts are tight and seated as they should be, also check for carbon buildup from a possible leak.
