Default thought i had car fixed

so i thought i got the car fixed because of my so called "mechanic" said he got it to run but, truthfully he is an idiot and now says he has to find the timing on the optispark? i read on the forums that there is no timing for the optispark and he wants me to find out for him... what should i tell him? im having definately a timing issue.

The stock Optispark timing is not adjustable, and can only be installed properly in one position. Timing is controlled by the PCM. What makes you think the spark timing is off?

the mechanic said the timing is off because it started then cut off a couple of minutes later. i was not home when he was working on it.

LOL there are dozens of things that can cause a EFI car to stall, most cars have not had adjustable timing for the last 25 years.

Sounds like you have a knucklehead working on your car. Go to a different shop before your car winds up with more problems than it already has.

I rarely ever let any mechanic touch any of the vehicles here at the house unless it's something I just don't have the equipment or capability to do in the garage. Do some hard looking and find a reliable good ol boy mechanic to stick with and you won't be disappointed again.
