Think i screwed through fuel tank..
I got a system in my camaro and needed a spot with good airflow for my amp (it gets hot!), and decided that the hump right in back of the back seats will be a good place. I drilled some 2 and 1/4 inch screws into it (3 of them), later that day i was showing the amp off to friends, when one of them told me the fuel tank is there.. He said there is a piece of metal above it, but i could have went through it with the screws..
My question is what should i do next? Should i fill her up, see if the screws are wet from gasoline, then slowly put them back in?

If you wondering what do I mean about actual screw depth....your screw is 2 1/4 inches, but a basic amp base plate is 1/4 inch thick and your hump in the trunk is 1/4 thick. Add thoses two and that's 2/4 inch (1/2) of dead space that takes up the screws depth. So about 1.75 of the screw actually went through the metal. If the two are 1/8, that would still be 2inches. You still have .5 of wiggle room.

should i fill it and see if one of them are wet? I actually used two different kinds of screws, and drilled a whole through another spot (was thinking about doing 4 screws in a square for the amp, but decided to go with 3 in a triangle)

Your inlet sits lower than the top of your tank. So if you would've fill you tank till it click. Gas never reaches the tip top. You won't see a wet screw unless you shake the car around to get the gas to slop

Those length screws you used are plenty long to hit the tank, no maybe's about it. The top of the tank is way closer than what slick is describing, 1" away tops. Keep your nose out for gas fumes, and try to look above the tank with a mirror if you can.

From my car Camaro69 1" estimate seems a little hopefull. The distance between my hump and tank was 1/2" to 3/4" tops. I remember when I did my fuel pump with the hatch method I could barly get my finger between and I set my drill depth to 3/8" to make sure I did not hit the tank.
This really should be repaired. The best way to repair it would be to replace the fuel tank. Second would be to remove the tanks and use a gas tank approved epoxy to repair the holes. You could also use the hatch method like you where replacing the fuel pum but I would only for the if the areas where in the center. The outter edged for the hump part more important structually then the center.
