talk me down
Well, I do'n't try to talk people out of what they want, but since your asking for it . . . .
You already have a nice car. At age 17 I was driving a Astro van with around 270k on it. I would suggest you enjoy that car you have all summer long. With the money you have saved up buy a truck or van that you can beat on during the winter and have fun without destroying your nice car. since what your gonna buy is a cheap beater save the rest of your money and you will be glad to have it in a few years.
You already have a Camaro. Why do you feel the need for a V*? It will cost you more in insurance, cost more in gas, and this takes away from all the money you have to do things you enjoy. How oftin can you actually utilize your Camaro's power now? If the answer is not very oftin which is true for anyone that doesnt live near a track then why waste your money?
Honestly, I would not trade my 3.8 for a V*. That is nothing against the V8. I just see no reason to have one. I rarely go over 70 mpg anyways. I'd rather spend the money on myself and the girl riding in my passenger seat.

It's not how often you go over 70 mph,it's how fast you can get to 70mph
I bought a V6 Camaro then about 8 months later bought my SS, theres really no comparing the two. Sorry bud but I can't talk you down, getting a V8 is getting a totally knew vechile its improved in every aspect. The best part is that there isnt any significant increase in insuranse prices or gas consumption.
wow, insurance is cheap for you guys. i finally got down to paying with a 25% discount, and my basic insurance for the camaro is $94 a month. for my 93 diesel, at one point i was paying $170 a month.
hmm, as for winter driving, lol, that's why i bought the camaro. lots of trips out to see my girlfriend, 9 hours one way the car is a lot cheaper than the truck. also, we don't use salt on our roads around here, so weekly rinses and i think it should be fine.

Probably the safety features.
thanks for all the support guys, i figure eventually i will get a v8 but for now i'm gonna work on touching up all the features on my car. just did some paint today and its looking nice!
luckily I've never drove a v8 other then my dads Dakota so i don't know what exactly i'm missing out on.
