I still stand by what I said. The guys on LS1tech are geniuses. It has been proven time and time again that hardtops are no stronger than T tops in any way whatsoever. The hardtop material is just a piece of flimsy aluminum. It adds little to no measurable lateral strength to the car at all.

That plastic panel on that serves as the roof on 4th gen cars adds little if nothing to the body integrity. However it may have been different in earlier cars that used a steel panel for the roof.
