Default T-top maintainence

what do you do for maintainence?

so on my new (to me) 97 trans am, the t-tops are good and work and dont leak or anything but they are really hard to open and close the handle. its not any sort of lining up issue because its the same whether they are on or off the car. its sort of like maybe its rusted inside a little. the ones on my old 95 z opened and closed very smoothly and effortlessly.

I was thinking about dousing it with some wd-40 but I dont think it will get to where it needs to without taking it apart. suggestions?

Yeah, take it apart..a little. Take your trim piece off, the one that covers the mechanism, and lube up the lever pivot and latch rod connecting points. Basically, if it moves, oil it. WD40 isn't very good to use as a lubricant, it doesn't last. I prefer PB Blaster because it works better at loosening and keeping things loose. But good old oil will work just fine if all it needs is a lube job.
