Default T-5 w/ LT1?

will a T-5 tranny from an earlier camaro (82-92) work with the lt1 setup?

The 3rd gen T-5 was not used on L98 350 TPI by GM because it was not designed for the Torque. What make you think it is going to hold up on LT1???

my bad i didn't know..but what ever my tranny is in my 86 z28 with a 5 speed is... is what i was wondering if it will fit?

i understand... thank you guys... i was just trying to make things a little less complicated... but what do you think would be the best B&M or hurst setup for the auto? it's the 4l60 non electronic

Are you talking about shift kits, or rachet shifters? I don't think Hurst makes a shift kit for the 4L60, which would lead me to say B&M.

If you have the 460E now, just leave it alone. You want a manual tranny buy a car with a 6-sp.

well if i get one i might as well get both...lol but yeah i noticed that when i was looking for them... would you reccomend a kinda mild one or a harder shiftr one?

what ratchet would you reccomend?

I know nothing about ratchet shifters really, other than they exist. As for the shift kits, I personally would get the firmer one, only due to the fact that I can tune/tinker with the transmission settings. I have heard good things about the mild ones as well. You may think about getting a Corvette servo. It firms up that 1-2 shift.

ok cool tht sounds good to me... what about gtter the gear ratio"s a little closer? is that to much trouble? or is it just better to put 3.73 posi in?
