Default Subs!!

I listen to a lot of music in my car, I want to have a powerful hard-hitting stereo system in my car...

I already have monsoon with a 550 watt amp in my camaro.. this is fine... but now it's time to take it up a notch, you guessed it, with SUB WOOFERS!

Now, I usually listen to heave metal with double bass, or drum and bass, maybe hip hop or ever old school jazz or country once in a while.. but mainly heavy metal.

Which system would be the best for power output, punchy, clean and clear sound.
I'm looking to spend around 700$

1 12 inch sub with a sealed box - rear seats
2 10'' subs with a sealed box - rear seats
2 8"" kickers with a sealed box - rear subs
1 8" kicker, sealed box, behind the rear seats.

Also, 550 watt amp or 800?

I'm leaning towards dual 8" kickers. What do you guys think??

I have a single 10" boss in a sealed enclosure and a 2 channel alpine amp. The sub is 2000 max watts and the amp is 1500 max watts. The sub is 1000 RMS watts at 2 ohms, but I don't remember the RMS and ohms on the amp. All of my friends that hear my system before they see think I have 2 12"s and a huge enclosure, but I have a lot of bump and sound quality with just a single 10".

I think dual 10s would be too muddy for metal... even with a sealed box...

I'm not sure if it would. I dnt listen to metal. I have 2 10 inch subs in the rear and I love them, but it does depend on the type of music be played. if you have a good head unit you can tune it to any style music. I have pioneers

I have two 12 inch alpine subs with 1000 watt alpine amp. I listen to metal and this setup makes me people turn heads cause they are used to rap. I also listen to old school rap and stuff like that and it still sounds good. I think the two 10 inch setup would be good. You will be satisfied with the end product.

IS it worth it to get subs in a soft top convertible or will the sound loss be to great..?

Is the trunk or rear seats better placement?
