91-92 was craby's style preference, not that they're any lighter than previous year terd gen's. I believe his weight reference was comparing them to a 4th gen. I had a 91 and liked it though. It was a 305 RS, so it wasn't a very quick car. Dropping in a bigger engine is almost as easy as older Camaros, not so easy with the 4th gen.

1981-82 were the lightest since the '67-69 cars.
Gen 1 350s are plentiful, parts are cheap and easily accessible, and make good power for what they are. The Gen-II LT1 is much like the Gen I in that it's 350 cu. in. (3.48in stroke/4.00 in bore) but the difference begins at the heads. LT1 is reverse cooled (heads cooled before the block) instead of block then heads. Fuel injected, computer controlled, Loves compression. The LT1 isn't heard about because it only lasted 6 years before the LS series came out. |
i dont know why but for me they dont float my boat. dont get me wrong i like em ok just dont want one. the 92 is a bit lighter than the older ones not so sure on the 91 but yah i do like that style better. not better than a 4th gen though. lol

when it comes to oil just so long as it is SAE approved its good but when it comes to filters i would go with either WIX or microguard/fram they are the best filters out there i know the K&N boasts of being race quality but ive used them for a while and the WIX or microguard/fram filters do a better job

I still liked mine though, but I have another "release" for the itchy right foot. |

Personally I don't care for the look of the 2nd gens, but what does it mean if the car is lighter, that it's faster and better on gas? I also don't understand all the motor talk unfortunately, sorry! Wish I did lol working on it.. What years were the LT1 and LS that you're talking about? And in the end what's the best Camaro motor or Camaro to buy then? Put it that way lol.. |
