Default Strano or Hawks 3rd gen?

I have been shopping for suspension parts and I have noticed that both sites carry just about the same stuff. Strano and Hawks both carry UMI stuff, but Strano has the UMI parts a little cheaper. But Hawks has more options like BMR, Spohn, etc. Strano has Spohn and BMR, but not as much. I was wondering if UMI is a good company bc since Strano is a little cheaper, in the long run I would save more by going with Strano. Any input is appreciated.

i like to deal with strano when i can. most of that kind of stuff i have gotten from spohns direct. like the spohn quality. got my koni's from strano and when i did i called to order i got some very good info from him that saved me some bucks. very nice guy and willing to help you get your order right. spohns has good customer service too.

never dealt with strano, but I have bought from hawk's...never had a problem with hawks. I'm a thorough shopper. I also check summit and even ebay. i bought all bmr (panhard bar, upper strut brace, k-member...)...I like the BMR stuff.

It really all depends what you want... Strano is very knowledgeable in suspension since he wins autocross championships and has a shop & installs parts. Never bought from Hawks yet... Got Strano sways & Konis from Sam. Truth is TireRack has Konis cheaper last I checked, but with Strano you get install and part selection advice you won't get elsewhere, and that's worth something more than just lowest price...

Umi has a better reputation than Bmr, just ask around in the suspension forum on Ls1tech...

Yeah, I really like the reputation that strano and hawks have with their services. Its just confusing for me bc they both offer the same UMI parts and I like UMI but strano is a tiny bit cheaper than hawks. But hawks has a wider selection like BMR, spohn, etc. And shipping would be faster for me from strano since he is also in PA. I was just wondering what kind of rep UMI parts have compared to the other brands.

^ If you're in PA -- I would just go in person to Strano's shop -- would be cool to meet him, get your questions answered, and shoot the breeze...

That would actually be pretty sweet! I would have to figure out where Brookville is first lol I'm gonna Google Maps it now.

Ouch! Brookville, PA is about 3.5 hours from me lol it would maybe be a possibility if I ordered a lot of his stuff instead of shipping it, I would go take a day and a little road trip out there.
