Default strange electrical issue

on my 93 Z28, I had just installed an aftermarket Alpine unit. The unit works fine, it came out of my other car. The problem is that, when I shut off the car (keys out) and wait 1-5 mins, the car makes a noise like the blinker beeping once, or a small chime type noise from under the dash/steering wheel, and than the radio comes on. This happens every time unless I shut off the radio prior to exiting the camaro. Also when I open the door then radio which turned on without the key, will shut off. If I wait another 1-5 mins it will return back on. What the hell is going on

Sounds like you have the wiring to the radio incorrect. The wires which control the radio staying on untill the door opens are backwards. You may not have the correct harness adapter to go from that radio, to the car which would explain what you have going on.

I hardwired it myself, and have done dozens of systems. The radio will stay on with the car off and than shut off when I open the door. My issue is that randomly 1-5 mins after it has shut off and I leave the car (or stay in to check) It will power back on.

I'd check with the radios manufacture. I'm willing to bet, they've seen that problem before.

Thank you for the diagrams, I hard wired everything correctly, im starting to think it might be something more than the wiring of the stereo, What else would make it want to turn on? I have had problems with my VATS, and while tearing apart the dash found a strange clear box with blinking lights that turned on or turned off the security light when I tapped it. There was a Ground cable coming from there that i took off and never saw the security light come back on again. Could this have anything to do with it? im not too good with electronics

Just did some more investigating. When you turn the car off, the radio and windows still work, when you open the door, you can hear that little click under the dash and the radio and windows stop working, and the lights come on. Now after awhile of sitting in the car (about 1-2 mins) the click will happen twice, like a double click, and The radio will turn on AND the windows will work again. So who knows what controls the accessories like that?

I am suspecting a RAP issue, and found out that they are located inside or near the BCM, Where might I find the BCM in my 93
