What's the stock gear ratio? I've seen a site that says 3:23 and one that says 2:73. I was wondering which of these are true if either. I have a M6 1998 Z28. If it came with more than one option, what are the options?

You have 3:42 gears. I believe the 3:23 was in the automatic though I could be wrong.

The standard rear for automatic Z28s was the 2:73 rear with an optional 3:23 gear. (I had the auto with 3:23 in my old 98 Z28.)
The standard rear for the 6-spd. was the 3:23.

Hmmm not sure but i think the LS1 Z and SS came with 3.23s

3.42s where offered in some V6 cars.

my rear is out of my brothers 95z28 6 speed and it does have 342 gears.

manuals have 3:42 gears

depending on the code in the glove box, auto cars either came with a 2:73 or 3:23. mine came with 3:23

Exactly! I believe 3.08 was an option for the V6 for a few years as well.
