Default stock mid pipe restrictive?

Thought of another question I meant to ask when I did my exhaust a few years ago :/ I went with long tube kooks headers and y pipe with highflow cats and hooker aero muffler with borla tips. Only part of the exhaust I didn't replace was the mid pipe mainly because I ran out of money but the stock one was in really good condition and, well I ran out of money lol. Do you guys think it's work replacing the mid pipe at this point??

no i would not worry about it. well actuallly your y pipe.2 into one into..2 is very restrictive an cat as well as any stock .muffler ,i could not belive when we took my cat back system off ,the muffler had this hug chunk. of coal i think it is ,all wicked heavy too ,so for me when i did the 406 i had to do tru duals ,the headers help alot but from there.everything is .holding back hp ,unless one.has a 96 or .older in the right state ,can do true duals total unrestrictive ,an will see fire at night when on the throttle ,my car runs right now with what i have, the 95 ,i havwe cat back for the 3800 ,its ok .but there no.comparing the 2 as far as breathing right an sound ,if i get on the gas when i.start the car it .scarys people ,,though for z28 cat back is much louder then stock, want to hear loud 95z28man page 15 of my thread theres a video ,mid pipe i dont think makes that much difference,so some states true duals can be done ,but its wich muffler one chooses couse cats are not longer needed

what size is it, if your going from 3.5 to 2.5 and back to 3.5 then your defeating the purpose of opening up the exhaust.

if you are trying to get hp gains a half inch restriction can make a big difference.

I didn't think it would make much difference but I will look into replacing that next. Upgrades come few and far between since marriage lol.

to increase air flow you put heads on the engine with larger valves and passages, cam with lobes that hold the valve open longer and farther, headers with larger pipes. if you use smaller pipes in the final leg of the airs flow it creates back pressure. thats not to say that big is good and bigger is better. there is a point where to much air flow can do the opposite

Okay. My mods are, cai, high flow mass air flow sensor, tb foil, lt headers, y pipe with high flow cats, hooker exhaust except stock mid pipe. Also have a hypertech tune. In my case do you think the mid pipe being 2.5 is making much of a diff to worry about? I discussed it with my mech when I had it done and he didn't think it would do much but I can understand if it does some just trying to figure out if it's something I should change.
