are the scoops functional? In other words, will they act as a heat extractor? I already have a CAI which I'm not going to change but if the scoops are screened and vented then heat extraction is not a bad thing

 

The scoops are not functional. You may be able to cut them out so they are functional but that is something I can check on if you'd like.

Did you ever find out if it was possible to cut out the scoops to make them functional?

 

Just went and checked on that. The scoop can be cut out but then you would need to cut a hole in the underside of the hood to allow for airflow.
