Default Spark Plug Question

Hey there, I have a 94 Z28 LT1 w/6m. My question is how do you remove #8 spark plug? On top of the you have all the air conditioning hardware and the dipstick in the way and under the car you have the y-pipe and the stater in the way so you can't even get your hands in ther from under the car. Any tricks or special tools required?

Thanks.

need someone with skinny arms. i scraped my arm up getting to mine. easier with a long handle flex rachet. can take starter lose and move it, unhook the battery. use really good plug so u dont have to do it again for a long time.

I had new wires and plugs done on mine at a friends shop Friday,I didn't have the time or place let alone tools or lift to do it myself so I coughed up the money and had it done.
I watched while they did it,what a PITA even with the right tools and a lift.
They dropped the cat and y-pipe to get at it,air tools and being able to walk under the car made that a lot easier but even with the exhaust out of the way changing the wires wasn't easy.

What craby said, that's how I've always gotten mine.

Sometimes I sure miss my '69,even with a 427 big block and big tube headers all I needed to change all 8 plugs and or wires was a ratchet a socket and 15 minutes under the hood.

Yeah, I hear you Craby, my hands and forearms are chewed up pretty good. All I have is basic tools and jack stands. It took me four hours to change seven plugs. I will be replacing the plugs with AC OE plats and using a 8mm Taylor wire set. How much of a pain will it be to route those? The reason i'm doing this is because I lost my water pump last moday while going down the highway. Since I got everythng out I might as well change plugs, wires and opti. I ordered a GMPP opti from summit racing, just waiting for it to arrive. Thanks for the replies guys.

drivers side wires are easy. passenger side is not. having the pump and opti out will make it as easy as its going to get.

just think, for what you paid someone to do the job for you, you coiuld have gotten long tube headers. I can't believe how easy it now is to get to the plugs compared to before. Of course, getting the headers in is another story but the pain numbs with time.
