I bought my '98 z28 last spring and when I bought it the plastic/metal piece that connects the leather boot to the console was broken. This spring I am starting to fix up little things and put some money into the car to make it nicer and have hit a snag. I cannot find anywhere a replacement part for my shift boot. I went to the GM dealership and they sold me the wrong part. When it arrived at my home I realized it was the lower shift boot that goes under the console. So when I went back to the dealership I took my broken peice in and explained to him exactly what I needed and the best he could tell me was to buy a whole new "boot assembly" which was $72.74. If anyone either has this peice that I could buy off of them or knows where I could find one for cheaper please help!!!! I have already called all the local junk yards and cannot so much as find a camaro/firebird with a manual tranny.

metal one might be the way to go.they all break eventually(mine too).year one.com has them but the whole upper console kit,including ashtray for about the same price i think.

 

Thanks guys, will definately look into that! Already looked on ebay, didnt find anything but not sure I searched the proper keywords necessary to bring up the part I wanted.

 

I bought one off eBay, but it was just the boot. So I went to this redline thing everything looked awesome so I ordered on up!
